May Monthly Progress Report

Welcome to the first monthly update for Tim’s Club! 🌴

May was such an exciting month for us. Ever since we publicly launched Tim’s Club in April, momentum has been building in a very exciting way.

Here are the highlights from May ✨

Consulting with experts

We want Tim’s Club to meet the highest standards in all areas, from its physical design to its programming. We’re connecting with amazing experts across a wide range of sectors to make sure we’re on the right track. So far, we’ve met with a non-profit consultant, an educator who specializes in building community and inclusive programs for people with special needs, and a Project Management and IT specialist who works in healthcare in Toronto. These conversations have already generated so many ideas and action items for us, and we're going to keep consulting with these experts as we move forward.

Inspiring projects we discovered

I spent the month of May travelling around Malaysia and London, and discovered some incredible non-profit organizations along the way with similar missions to Tim's Club. They're giving me so much inspiration for what we’re dreaming of creating. Here are two of my favourites👇

Fair Shot - Changing Lives One Cup at a Time

Fair Shot is a social enterprise cafe that "aims to transform the lives of young adults with learning disabilities and/or autism through specialty coffee." They provide young adults with real-life work experience and then help them find their dream job in hospitality.

Redemption Roasters - Reducing Reoffending through Coffee

This organization has such an innovative and inspiring model. They help prison residents and people at risk of crime develop the practical skills they need to pursue sustainable and meaningful employment.

Connecting with the local community here in Panama

For Tim’s Club to succeed, it must reflect the needs of the local families in the area. We want to involve members of the community in every stage of the planning process, so I’ve started to meet with people to learn more about their experiences. They’ve explained how challenging it currently is for them to find the resources and support they need. Our conversations have been extremely inspiring and confirmed that Tim’s Club is going to make a huge impact.

Our first fundraising event

Our first fundraising event for Tim's Club was on Monday, June 5th!

This was a Vision Board Workshop, with 100% of the proceeds going to support Tim's Club.

In this workshop we covered:

  • How to create a vision board to bring your big dreams to life

  • Step-by-step instructions for creating it digitally

  • Our exact process for creating a board you love

It doesn't matter what your next dream is - from a home project, vacation, a business project - a vision board will help you bring it to life.

We’ve accomplished a lot in May, and are excited to keep moving forward in June 💪

If you have any questions, ideas, advice, or encouragement - we’d love to hear from you any time!

Thank you for being part of this community, and supporting us as we bring Tim’s Club to life ☀️

xx
